One of the hardest parts of my musical journey was breaking out of my own head and pouring an easily understood image onto an audio canvas that people can understand. I always felt like people missed the point to my artwork; and I failed to see with their eyes. I was unable to break out of my own depth enough to really connect with the fans and provide them a more impacting delivery.

It's crazy, becuase I always took the conscious approach to my music; and in these last few years, I have reached different depths to myself that make everything so glaringly practical. It changes how I view things. In one sense, I see things from a very deep and organic sense; but then I also see the simplicity in those very same things. And that simplistic view has allowed me to place messages in my music in such a straight-forward approach that people connect with it so much more. Exploring this side of my music has been one of the most rewarding experiences becuase it's freed me to be as outlandish as I want to be while still producing a message that is important and personal.

This project breaks all that away and leaves me wide open and transparent to the world in such a new way for me that sometimes it's uncomfortable. But it's liberating too. And I am completely enjoying this process to the LP. The mixtape was just a warm up to what's coming, and truly only represents a piece of this puzzle I'm putting together. If you can download the mixtape, it's free and easy to do. Click here to download it today and get ready for the LP, becuase it's going to be a new sound to my audio pallette I think most of you will enjoy and truly connect with.

#elPresidente

Some random thoughts I have had regarding this project and the journey to completing this mixtape/album combo series. It's been quite the change from my normal mode, and I wanted to share my thoughts with y'all on this.

For the Citizen Prophet series which included the "Prophet to the People" Mixtape, it was more personal for me. I took the time to really capture my journey from giving up music, to picking up a family to going through a divorce to rebuilding from scratch. It was my one chance to get something done that meant everything to me on an intimate level. For this upcoming project, I want to change the gears. While I can't always snap out of the personal mode, as most of what I write involves my own life experiences and views; the #elPresidente project is going to be a little more rough around the edges.

For starters, the mixtape I want to keep lyrical. I think it's time I show that side of myself more and have fun with the wordplay that I used to enjoy in my younger years so much. Working on those tracks has brought out that alter ego a bit more; and I've noticed the response of the crowd to some of those performances are almost immediate. For that reason, I'm keeping it that way on the mixtape and leaving my more meaningful tracks for the album with full instrumental compositions.

For the album, I may drop in some personal tracks with a twist of heavy punchline tracks that will once and for all cement my skillset for those who doubted it. It's definitely been a growing experience and the more I show my alter ego around, I notice people gravitate towards it. I'm not sure if it's the lack of filters that appeals to people in this world full of plastic (so I like to call it). But I do know it's like a good workout when I'm done in the booth and I am enjoying the steps I have been making so far. Just wanted to share some random thoughts and let y'all know to start looking out for previews and drops from the upcoming project in the next few weeks. Working hard to get everything situated to make it monumental!

So, here I am late at night working through business plans, site updates and a task list that resembles the tower of babel; and I'm wondering whether I can really make this work. Listening to the album and getting the feedback has been the most encouraging thing; but that doesn't always translate to sales and business growth; so I feel the need to be a bit realistic as well.

Seems like these days you have to play ALL PARTS in order to make considerable moves, but it's also a question of budget. Hopefully I can get that in order soon.

Citizen Prophet LP NOW AVAILABLE!Anyhow… enough of my whining portion, and onto the REAL set of business. So, last Friday the digital version of my album CITIZEN PROPHET went live on iTunes, Spotify, Bandcamp and Google Play. It's been a long time coming, and I'm hoping to get some good promo around this album once I get all the pressed up copies in. If you haven't heard it yet, preview it in total on the MEDIA PAGE and support a brotha with the purchase if you feel it hits home for you. I know we're called starving artists, but I prefer NOT to starve :) (pun intended).

Looking at the people I have around me, and analyzing my business model hoping I can make some major moves soon that will bring about some measurable results. It's either now or never, and HEADNOKKA is my family.

Thanks to everyone who has been supporting me and my team. I REALLY APPRECIATE y'all more than you even know! Feel free to give me a shout or hit me up on the email tip. Let me know what you think of this album I made. I put my heart into it.

Sooooo, it's been a while since I wrote a regular damn blog, and I figured this was a good event as any, right? We've been hard at work trying to finish some projects up, and even slowed down performances to do so.

The result is that we're actually getting shit done and here's the promo video for the upcoming solo album I have called, CITIZEN PROPHET. Feedback ALWAYS welcome!

Thanks to everyone who has supported thus far!

So, 2012 has been a bit crazy. We've had our team go from simply music creation and some performances to videos, performances all around the Tampa area, out of state recognition and online radio play as well as some good mixtape placements.

So, 2012 has been a bit crazy. We've had our team go from simply music creation and some performances to videos, performances all around the Tampa area, out of state recognition and online radio play as well as some good mixtape placements. I'm thankful for everything we've accomplished so far, but I can't help think there's so much more yet to accomplish; and it's gonna take some time AWAY from everything else to make it happen.

As a result, we slowed down performances, focused on our actual projects that we need to completed and getting ready for this A3C trip this month. Should be interesting.

With all that being said, I decided to take a weekend and relaunch my website with all your regular i360 Jewels like before along with a larger focus on my artist side of things. It's about that time I brand this baby and bring it up to what it's supposed to be. Feel free to comment on the new design and music.
